Auf Beschluss des Akademischen Senats vom 11. Mai 2006 wurde neben Schauspiel, Puppenspielkunst und Regie die Abteilung Tanz eingerichtet. Die Abteilung besteht heute aus den Studiengängen Choreographie und Bühnentanz und wird geleitet von Prof. Wanda Golonka, die auch gleichzeitig Leiterin des Studiengangs Choreographie ist.

Der Masterstudiengang Choreographie wurde durch die Senatsverwaltung für Bildung, Wissenschaft und Forschung zum Wintersemester 2008 / 2009 eingerichtet. Er ist in das Hochschulübergreifende Zentrum Tanz (HZT) Berlin integriert.






Das Hochschulübergreifende Zentrum Tanz Berlin (HZT) wurde 2006 gegründet und startete als Pilotprojekt im Rahmen von Tanzplan Deutschland, einer Initiative der Kulturstiftung des Bundes zur Förderung des Tanzes. Seit 2010 wird das HZT auf institutioneller Basis fortgeführt.




Das HZT bietet drei Studiengänge an: den Bachelorstudiengang „Tanz, Kontext, Choreographie” und die beiden Masterstudiengänge „Choreographie” (MAC) und „Solo/ Dance/ Authorship“ (SoDA). Die Besonderheit der drei Studiengänge ist ihre enge Verbindung von akademischer Ausbildung und professioneller künstlerischer Praxis; die Studiengänge sind experimentell ausgerichtet und verknüpfen künstlerische Lehre, wissenschaftliche Grundlagenvermittlung sowie berufspraktische Begleitung. Sie reagieren auf den Wandel zeitgenössischer Kunstproduktion und verhandeln kreativ und kritisch, was Tanz, Choreografie und Performance als Kunstformen in den heutigen Gesellschaften sind und sein können.

Das HZT wird getragen durch die Universität der Künste Berlin und die Hochschule für Schauspielkunst “Ernst Busch“ in Kooperation mit TanzRaumBerlin, einem Netzwerk der professionellen Tanzszene Berlins.

Der Bachelorstudiengang Bühnentanz besteht seit dem Wintersemester 2006 / 2007 und wird von Prof. Gregor Seyffert und Prof. Dr. Ralf Stabel geleitet.
Der Bachelorstudiengang wird in Kooperation mit der Staatlichen Ballettschule Berlin angeboten. Er stellt ein in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland einmaliges Bildungsangebot dar, weil die Studierenden des Studienganges Bühnentanz gleichzeitig SchülerInnen der Oberstufe der Staatlichen Ballettschule Berlin sind. Die Ausbildung endet mit der Doppelqualifikation Abitur bzw. Fachabitur und Bachelor-Abschluss. Die künstlerisch-praktische Ausbildung im Studiengang findet in den Räumen und mit dem Personal der Staatlichen Ballettschule Berlin statt. Mit diesem Projekt entspricht Berlin der Forderung der KMK, die Bühnentänzerausbildung als Studiengang anzubieten. Gleichzeitig erhalten die jungen KünstlerInnen wie bisher die bestmögliche Allgemeinbildung, die ihnen auch nach der Tänzerkarriere gute Berufschanchen sichert.
